What you need to know about the Canada Post Disruption

Expand As a cardholder, do I still need to make the minimum monthly credit card payment if there is a delay in receiving my monthly statement in the mail?

Yes. Please login to cucardsonline.com to view your account information and sign up to receive your statements online. Or you can call our customer service representatives for account and payment information.

Even when normal postal service is disrupted (due to a mail strike or otherwise), you must continue to make your minimum payments. During such month, you must contact us at least once per month to obtain the information required to meet your payment obligations under this Agreement and to keep your account in good standing.

Expand How can I make credit card payments during the postal disruption?

Payments can be made by any of the following methods:

  • In person at a participating branch.
  • Through your personal online banking.
  • Enrolling in Pre-Authorized Debit Services. To enroll, download the form from cucardsonline.com by selecting the Pre-Authorized Debit Service Payment Plan page from the Services menu, or obtain the form directly from your local branch.
Expand What will happen if I don’t get my statement and forget to make a payment?

If you haven’t received your statement and you need information on your balance and your payment requirements you can call card services card services at 1-800-561-7849 and a representative will be happy to provide you with the information you need to make your payment. You should make your payment as soon as possible. During the mail disruption you are still required to make at least the minimum payment owing on your account by the payment due date. If you’d like to review your obligations, they are outlined in your Account Agreement that you received with your card. If you don’t pay your balance in full there may be interest charges applied to your account. To ensure you are receiving your statement(s) on time during the mail disruption, login to cucardsonline.com and signup to receive your statements online.

Expand How do I confirm what transactions are on my statement this month?

You can call card services at 1-800-561-7849 and a representative will be happy to provide you with the information you need. Transaction information is also available through cucardsonline.com.

Expand Will I be able to receive new, replacement (lost/stolen or damaged), or authorized user credit cards during the postal disruption?

Yes. All new, replacement (lost/stolen or damaged), and authorized user credit cards will be mailed, but may be delayed, during the partial postal work disruption.

Expand How will I receive my credit card PIN?

Please visit a participating credit union branch to change your PIN.

Expand What if I enroll in Balance Protection Insurance just before or during the postal disruption?

Balance Protection insurance certificates will still be mailed to you in the event of a partial postal work disruption. Delivery may be delayed. Sample copies of Balance Protection insurance certificates are available online here.
